L’Academie de Cuisine’s Children’s Summer Cooking Camps are designed for
children ages 9 – 12 and teenagers 13 – 17.
Morning and afternoon sessions
are offered 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. (With the exception of the week of July 4th where there is a 4-day morning camp)
Morning sessions meet from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Afternoon sessions meet
from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
Camps are held at LAC’s Bethesda
location at 5021 Wilson Lane. There is ONE camp being held in the
Gaithersburg location during the week of June 23-27.
The 2014 Summer Cooking Camp schedule is available online. Registration
will begin Monday, March 10, 2014. L’Academie de Cuisine will
not accept any registrations postmarked prior to Monday, March 10. All
information concerning LADC's Summer Cooking Camps will be published on
the website. Please download the registration form from the

April 30, you may drop off, or fax (301.652.7970) the registration. Please
make sure to review your registration form so that all information is
completed, otherwise it cannot be accepted.
Children may be registered for as
many camps as desired, however camps may not be scheduled on the same day (for
example back to back morning and afternoon sessions) as child care is not
available between sessions, and camps are physically very demanding on

children. You may include up to 3 registrations (i.e. siblings, two
friends) per envelope. Please do not include notes about other
applicants if they are mailing separately. LADC can not
accept a registration if it is not signed by the parent/guardian.
The cost is
$410.00 per camp session and full payment by check, cash, credit card, or gift
certificate is due with registration. A family will receive a 20% discount for 3 or more confirmed
registrations for this summer. This will be assessed on the registration
by LADC depending on availability of camps.
Confirmations are sent out by
mail within two weeks after registration opens and/or your registration is
cancellations must be made at least one calendar month prior to the first day
of your child’s camp. NO
No refunds, school credits, or
camp rescheduling will be provided for cancellations made after this time. Camp
cancellations made at least one month prior to the start of camp will receive a
refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
L’Academie de Cuisine Summer Camps
- Each day
students work in small groups to prepare the day’s menu. At the end of class,
children sit down together to eat the foods they have prepared. (Due to
the Montgomery County Health Department, food is not permitted
to leave the school.)

- Classes are
co-ed and limited. Staff for each camp includes a chef/instructor and up to 6
- DRESS CODE: Students
should be dressed both comfortably and safely with closed toe shoes (sneakers, clogs, crocks, etc.). See Below

- ALLERGIES: L’Academie
de Cuisine does not use peanut oil in our summer camps; however we cannot
guarantee a nut-free environment. If you child has an allergy, please describe
it in detail with your registration. Severe allergies will be handled on a case
by case basis. Please review the menus with your child as LAC cannot
make day of substitutions.
- PICK UP
& DROP OFF: Children must be picked up promptly after
camp. Counselors remain with the students only 30 minutes after each
session. Likewise, students should be dropped off no earlier than 30
minutes prior to their camp start time. There is a waiting room
where campers can sit to stay out of the summer heat!
